Synthesis and Spectral Characterization of 6-membered Silanes
To perform the hydrosilation of 5-chloropent-1-yne to form trichlorosila-5-chloropent-1-ene. The product of the reflux allows us to perform the cyclization of the compound of interest to form 1,1-dichlorosilacyclohex-2-ene. Once the 6-membered ring has formed, using NMR to identify that the compound has been cyclized, the 6-membered ring can then be used to perform numerous amounts of reaction to form different 6-membered silane compounds.
